Green Films - What in the World Are They Spraying?

What in the World Are They Spraying (2010)   ***/5
Directed by Paul Wittenberger

What in the World Are They Spraying is about the strange clouds in the sky.... You know....the ones that appear to be jet exhaust but instead fan out and cover our sky in a cloudy layer of particles?   You know....the ones that weren't there five years ago?  This film is more than just another conspiracy theory.  Instead, the filmmakers take us inside the symposiums of top scientists working in geothermal sciences, where they confirm the existence of chem-trails created by planes overhead......WORLD WIDE.  The chem-trails are comprised of tiny aluminum particles.  They are supposedly sprayed in the atmosphere in an attempt to reflect harmful UV rays from the sun back into space.

That may work in theory, but what comes up, must come down.

Now, harmful amounts of Aluminum particles, Barium, and Strontium are appearing in our water, our soil, and our lungs.  Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Wake up, look up, and think about it!

Green Films: The Oil Factor

The Oil Factor  ****/5
Free Will Productions, Gerard Ungerman, Audrey Brohy

Yes, four stars, because it offers important information we rarely see exposed!  Unfortunately for The Oil Factor, it had a seemingly small budget so it did not get the exposure it truly needed.
This film raises many concerning issues about the intentions of our government to take control of foreign oil.  The oil is precious because our entire way of life is dependent on the oil we import into this country.  Everything we do, we eat, we, or consume is somehow directly, or indirectly tied to oil.

I get up in the morning in a bed that has sheets shipped in from China.  I drink my orange juice from fruit that traveled all the way from Florida, in a carton that was made from petrochemicals that include oil.  I then watch the news on a television made from oil, I get dressed in clothes made from an entirely different continent, which contain dyes made from oil.  At the end of it all, I go to work in a car fueled by oil and so on.

America seems to be enslaved by an addiction to oil.  We accept it because it seems like there is nothing we can do about it.  Why do we feel entrapped?  Maybe it is because of the government's intentions to keep us addicted for profits.  The concept sounds frightening, but this film presents the information we should take a closer look at.  There are a couple of concerning topics that caught my attention:

  • Halliburton is Cheney’s old company which he still has financial ties to.  Halliburton is responsible for specializing in building oil infrastructures and military bases world-wide.  The biggest contract to re-build Iraq (decisions made by Bush’s administration which includes Vice President Cheney), went to Cheney’s company, Halliburton.Sounds like favoritism.  BUT THEN Halliburton begins the rebuilding process and charges Iraq to pay us back in oil revenues.  Therefore, we get the controlled operations of Iraq’s oil.Sounds like greed.

Sounds like favoritism

  • Then, the first companies that were allowed to buy the oil after rebuilding took place was Chevron – which Condoleezza Rice was the former board member of.  Again, there seems to be calculated plan going on here, where the Bush Administration formulated these moves, and specifically chose companies that would benefit those who conducted the plan.
Let me be clear that when I say “Bush Administration,” I mean people like Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice etc.  Bush was mostly a talking head for the people behind the invasion plan.

  • I am led to conclude that the US planned the war in Iraq to try and take privatization control of Iraq’s oil.  That is not to say that the US planned the attacks of 9/11, but it is more likely to say that the US used the attacks of 9/11 as an opportunity to invade Iraq.
  • The UN denied the US the approval to invade Iraq, but without consent or international approval, the US went ahead and bombed anyway.

I could go on, but this is far too long for a blog entry.

Green Film: The World According to Monsanto

The World According to Monsanto (2008)    ***/5
Directed by Marie-Monique Robin

This only has 3 stars because the information actually needs to be heard.  Unfortunately, the documentary itself is of poor quality. but the contents of which is a scary, scary, scary, scary story about the state of our agricultural nightmare.  In today's United States agricultural industry most of the crop seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, patents on life, and government control belong to one, monopolistic company named, "Monsanto."

Have you ever heard of Roundup? GMO's? Do you know who has voting power in the FDA? What about the USDA? Do you know why most of our crop land only grows mono-crops such as corn and soy?  If not, you will after watching this:

Green Film - Life After People

Life After People (2009)  ***/5
History Channel Television Series

History Channel looks into the planet's recovery cycle after the hypothetical distinction of human beings.  It is an interesting scientific hypothesis on how our society (our buildings, transportation vehicles, pets, and damns) will degrade while plant and wildlife will once again prosper.  It's eerie to think that, after all this technological progress, our efforts are meaningless when it comes to the natural rebirth of the earth and its species.  Basically, if humans were to not be around to cut back vines, the vines will then take over (and eventually crumble) the structure.

Plants are powerful bitches.  And because of that, I actually went out and bought this DVD.

Green Films - Tapped

Tapped (2010)       ***/5
Directed by Stephanie Soechtig

Just like Flow, and Blue Gold, Tapped looks to reiterate the dire need for everyday citizens to know where their water comes from.  Tapped focuses more on the role that companies have in the destruction of our nation's public water sources.  We take a closer look at the myths behind bottled water, and the hidden secrets behind it.   A lot of the information, however, has been presented before in other films, television shows, etc. so it is obvious there is still a lack of action on behalf of us citizens.

If you do not want to see another repetitive documentary on this particular subject matter there one thing you can do:

Stop    buying    bottled    water   !
